This weekend Montreal got a new 'Best Baker' in Mamie Clafoutis' Charles Létang.
Judges at the Expo Manger Santé et Vivre Vert tried about 35 pieces of bread each in order to make their choice, with 11 contestants bringing in three kinds each.

For Létang, bread has been a lifelong passion.
"I used to bring my breads to sell to the neighbour when I was seven years old," he said.
By the time he reached his mid-20s, Létang decided to quit his day job and dedicate himself to baking.
One of his entries was a baguette, a bread that, despite how common it is, can be the most difficult bread to get right, said Létang.
"You have the shaping, the bubbles inside, the colour, the crust. It's difficult," he said.
The Expo Manger Santé et Vivre Vert continues on Sunday at the Palais des congrès.
