Montreal officers photographed with women in cruiser not charged
Investigation finds 'no nudity, no sexual contact' between 2 officers and 2 women in police cruiser
Montreal police say nothing criminal happened in a police cruiser on the night a controversial series of pictures was taken of two police officers with two women.
"We established that nothing criminal happened — no nudity, no sexual contact," said Montreal police Cmdr. Ian Lafrenière.
The images got a lot of attention on social media last month.
In one picture, a Montreal police officer is seen in the driver’s seat with a woman sitting on his lap.
Police said there was also another woman in the back seat of the cruiser, who was 17 years old.
Lafrenière said the force has concluded the first part of its investigation, which included speaking to the women involved as well as the witness who took the pictures.
Lafrenière said they determined the women were not naked and that nothing sexual was taking place.
“We've done a complete investigation and believe me, nothing was put aside. All kinds of resources were used. Believe me because when you hear things like that, it was important to make the distinction between facts and rumours,” Lafrenière said.
The disciplinary investigation into the officers’ actions continues. Lafrenière said the two could face suspension.
