The Montreal Canadiens and fans were happy to get Brendan Gallagher back on the ice after missing 17 games with two broken fingers but now they have to deal with fellow forward Dale Weise being sidelined two to three weeks with an upper-body injury.
The team announced the news on Twitter on Sunday.
Medical update: @daleweise22 will be out 2-3 weeks (upper body injury).— @CanadiensMTL
Weise, a 27-year-old right-winger, was forced to leave the Winter Classic game in the second period after appearing to injure his right arm or wrist.
The Canadiens recalled Sven Andrighetto from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League on Saturday.
