Montreal-area drivers face major road closures this weekend

Drivers in and around Montreal this weekend are in for major road closures, some of which will last all weekend.

Ongoing roadwork, Carifiesta and La Ronde fireworks will shut down some major arteries

Drivers in and around Montreal are in for major road closures, some of which will last all weekend.

Here is a list to help you navigate in and around the city this weekend:

Carifiesta:

Montreal’s annual Caribbean parade kicks off Saturday at 11 a.m. Cars won’t be allowed onto Sainte-Catherine St. in downtown Montreal between Fort St. and Phillips Square until 5 p.m.

Loto-Québec International Fireworks Competition:

The fireworks competition will light up the sky Saturday at 10 p.m. As a result, the Jacques-Cartier Bridge will be completely closed in both directions on Saturday evening, from 8:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.

Full weekend closures:

Near the Mercier Bridge:

- 20 West ramp towards outbound Mercier Bridge: completely closed from Friday 10 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m.

- On the Montreal side of the Mercier Bridge, the 138 East ramp for the 20 West: completely closed from Saturday 6 a.m. until Monday 5 a.m.

In Laval:

- Pie IX Blvd. ramp for the 440 East: completely closed from Friday 10 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m.

Overnight closures:

Island of Montreal:

  • Bonaventure Autoroute’s 10 West ramp for the 720 East: completely closed on Saturday evening (from 7 p.m. to midnight) and Sunday night (from 11:30 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m.)
  • Highway 13 North between Hickmore and Highway 40: completely closed on Sunday from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Highway 13 South between Highway 40 and the 520 East: completely closed from Saturday 11 p.m. until Sunday 10 a.m.
  • In the Turcot Interchange, the 720 West ramp for the 15 South: completely closed from Sunday 10 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m.
  • Highway 15 South ramp for the 40 East: completely closed Saturday night (from 10 p.m. until Sunday 10 a.m.) and Sunday night (from 10 p.m. until Monday 6 a.m.)
  • Metropolitan East, from Saint-Laurent to Lacordaire: completely closed on Saturday night (from 11:59 p.m. until Sunday 9 a.m.), and Sunday night (from 11 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m.)
  • 40 East and West ramps for the 13 South: completely closed from Saturday 8 p.m. until Sunday 12 p.m.
  • 520 East and West ramps for 13 North: completely closed from Saturday 8 p.m. until Sunday 12 p.m.
  • 520 West ramp for 13 South: completely closed from Saturday 8 p.m. until Sunday 12 p.m.
