Man stabbed to death in downtown Montreal apartment

A suspect is in police custody after a 52-year-old man was stabbed to death inside an apartment in Montreal's Centre-Sud neighbourhood late Saturday night.

52-year-old victim's death is 16th homicide of the year

A suspect is in police custody after a 52-year-old man was stabbed to death inside an apartment in Montreal's Centre-Sud neighbourhood late Saturday night.

Police were called to an apartment on Malo Avenue, at the foot of the entrance to the Jacques-Cartier Bridge, around 9:50 p.m. ET.

Montreal police said the man had been stabbed in the upper body and was found dead on the scene.

Officers attempted to resuscitate the man, to no avail.

It is the 16th homicide of the year on the island of Montreal, up three from this time last year.
