A 27-year-old man was stabbed earlier this morning in an apartment in Montreal-North.

Police were called to the scene near the corner of Langelier Boulevard and Renoir Street.

"We received a call concerning a fight inside an apartment around 6:45 a.m," said Montreal police Constable André Leclerc.

When police arrived, they found a man had been stabbed in the chest.

The man was transported to hospital but police do not fear for his life.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man outside the apartment, but released him later in the day as the victim refused to collaborate with interrogators, police said.
