A man was rushed to hospital after his face was slashed during a fight outside a bar in the Old Port.

Montreal police said they were called at around 3:45 a.m. this morning after the fight broke out on McGill Street near St-Maurice Street.

Police say an argument between the victim and a group of people started inside a bar on St-Jacques Street.

"The conflict moved outside the bar, that's where the young man was assaulted," said Const. Daniel Lacoursière.

He said the man's face was cut with a "sharp object" during the fight.

The suspects fled before police arrived. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
