Man charged with attempted murder in connection with downtown shooting

A man has been charged in connection with the Nov. 5 shooting that left another man with gunshot wounds to his face.

A 35-year-old man has been charged in connection with the Nov. 5 shooting that left another man with gunshot wounds to his face.

The suspect appeared in court via video conference to be be charged with attempted murder, possession of drugs for use in trafficking, breach of conditions related to previous drug convictions and possession of a firearm. 

According to police, an altercation broke out at a private reception near the intersection of St-Antoine and Mansfield streets.

The 36-year-old victim was shot multiple times in the upper body.

He was rushed to hospital where his condition stabilized.
