Man charged in death of northern Quebec teen
A man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a Quebec teenager who had been reported missing from her home on the shore of James Bay on Saturday .
After a lengthy search, Waskaganish police and members of the Cree community found the body of Tara Jolly, 16, on Monday, Quebec provincial police spokesman Const. Marie Josée Ouellet said.
The cause of the girl's death is not known; an autopsy has yet to be performed.
Archie Stephen Hester, 29, appeared before a justice of the peace Thursday morning in Amos, a town in Quebec's northwestern Abitibi region, said Crown prosecutor Marie-Chantal Brassard.
Hester will remain in custody until his next court appearance March 16.
