Montreal police say speed may have played a role in a fatal car crash in the Montreal borough of Saint-Léonard last night.

A 24-year-old man died after losing control of his car while driving along Provencher Boulevard.

The vehicle struck several parked vehicles and then a lamppost.

The man was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident happened on a residential street in a 30 km/h zone.
