Seven house search warrants executed, five men and two women in custody
Longueuil police are searching at least a dozen homes in Brossard and St-Hubert in a crackdown on a criminal organization dealing in drugs.
Longueuil police spokesman Jean-Pierre Voutsinos said the search warrants are targeting a group that is involved in the trafficking of marijuana and cocaine,
"We're looking for several individuals as well as drugs in the house search warrants," Voutsinos said.
Five men and two women between the ages of 19 and 45 have been taken into custody, he said.
The police investigation that led today's raids started in March.
Ninety-five officers from Longueuil`s police department are involved in the operation.
Police investigators will meet with the arrested men today and they could be formally charged tomorrow, Voutsinos said.
