Longueuil police ask for public's help in catching robbery suspect
Police say man in his mid-20s stole money from a woman after getting into her car
Longueuil police are asking for the public's help locating a suspect in a robbery that occurred earlier this month.
A man in his mid-20s is alleged, on March 1, to have asked a woman to drive him to a police station, telling her that his car had been towed.
Once in the car, the man is said to have become verbally abusive. A physical altercation ensued and the man stole the woman's money before fleeing on foot, according to police.
The suspect is described as being five feet, ten inches tall and of medium build. He has curly brown hair and a beard of several days growth.
Police also described the man as being of Latin-American origin, and speaking French with an accent. He was last seen wearing a beige jacket with a hood.
People with information are asked to contact 1-800-711-1800. A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered.
