Longueuil police searching for suspect after fatal shooting

The victim and suspect were both at a Subway restaurant at Centre Jacques-Cartier on Chambly Road, about a block away from where the victim was found, before the fight broke out, police say.

Longueuil police are still looking for a male suspect after an 18-year-old man was shot dead Sunday evening.

Police say just after 6 p.m., they began receiving 911 calls reporting gunshots near the intersection of Grant Street and Ste-Foy Boulevard.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where his death was confirmed later in the night.

Police believe the shooting took place after a fight, according to Const. Marie Beauvais-Lavoie.

By the time officers arrived at the scene, a suspect had already fled on foot.

More than 12 hours after the shooting occurred, investigators were at the scene of the shooting, trying to find clues in order to determine what happened.

The only description of the suspect police are giving so far is that he was wearing dark-coloured clothes.
