Île Bigras Bridge in Laval reopens to traffic

A small bridge has reopened to traffic in Laval after a water main break led to a sinkhole on Sunday.

A small bridge has reopened to traffic in Laval after a water main break Sunday.

Vehicles were not allowed to cross the Île Bigras bridge after a citizen informed authorities about a sinkhole at the mouth of the bridge around 4 p.m.

Residents in Île Bigras, Île Parizeau and Île Verte also had their water cut off and some remain under a boil-water advisory.

Laval city officials and public works are evaluating the structure.
