Lévis man stabbed, recovering after life-saving surgery
A 44-year-old Lévis man is recovering in hospital this morning after he was stabbed in the arm, chest and abdomen in an altercation.
Sergeant Marc Allard of the Lévis police said the man and the 20-year-old suspect, the man's son-in-law, got into an argument inside an apartment on Hypolite-Bernier Street.
The victim's daughter was also inside the apartment.
The suspect fled the scene in a car but was captured on Highway 20 just minutes later.
Allard said the man pulled over by police had been drinking, and he failed a breathalyzer test.
The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
He was not expected to live through the night, said Allard.
However, after a successful surgery, he is recovering in hospital.
The 20-year-old suspect is to be arraigned in court today and is facing several charges, including attempted murder and driving under the influence.
