Human remains found in a pile of dirt at a Granby cemetery
Police dig for missing body parts after an employee of Monseigneur Pelletier Cemetery made the discovery
Police in Granby are digging through piles of dirt at the Monseigneur Pelletier Roman Catholic Cemetery after an employee discovered human remains in a ravine, near an employee maintenance area.
“Police officers are still there to find parts of the body because some parts of the body are missing,” said Granby Police spokesman Guy Rousseau.
Police say it's still too early to identify the body or even determine its sex.
They are also trying to figure out whether or not the body came from a plot at the cemetery.
“We don't know where the body comes from. We are trying to find out what happened,” Rousseau said, adding that investigators could be on the scene for days to come.
