Nine people lost their homes overnight after a fire raged through their Hochelaga-Maisonneuve apartment building.

By the time firefighters got the call, just after 4 a.m., the Adam Street building was already engulfed in flames.

It took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

No one was injured.
