Father Benoît Lacroix remembered
Rural Quebec priest lived to 100-years-old and received Order of Canada
The funeral proceedings for Quebec religious figure Father Benoît Lacroix began Wednesday and continue Thursday at the chapelle du couvent Saint-Albert-le-Grand.
A wake will be held starting at 2:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m.
There will be another wake Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
The theologian, philosopher, medievalist and teacher was well-known to Quebecers.
He died March 2 at the age of 100.
Lacroix taught medieval studies at the Université de Montréal for 40 years before he retired in 1981.
He also published 50 different works on religion and science.
