Call for applications open to emerging and established writers living in greater Montreal area
CBC Montreal and the Quebec Writers' Federation are now taking applications for the 2018 Writer-in-Residence Project.
Now in its third year, The CBC/QWF writing residency is an opportunity for local writers to increase their profile in the community.
Emerging and established writers living in the greater Montreal area are invited to apply. Applicants must be a QWF member and reside in the Montreal area during the interview period and the residency period. Candidates must also be available to appear at the QWF Gala on the evening of Nov. 21, 2017.
The selected writer will be responsible for producing a series of five nonfiction blog posts of 400 to 600 words each on Montreal-related themes to be developed with CBC staff and delivered on deadline every three to four weeks. They will be published on the CBC Montreal website. The writer will also make guest appearances on both CBC Radio and CBC Television.
The deadline for applications is Sunday, Oct. 15 (midnight). The official announcement will be made on Nov. 21 at the 2017 QWF Awards Gala, hosted by CBC Montreal's Nantali Indongo.
The writing residency is from January to June, 2018.
