Elderly man killed, woman injured in Laval hit-and-run

A 75-year-old man is dead and a 73-year-old woman is injured after being struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run Monday morning.

A 75-year-old man is dead and a 73-year-old woman is injured after being struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run Monday morning.

The couple was hit by a black SUV while walking in a McDonald's restaurant parking lot on Boulevard des Laurentides. The vehicle was pulling out of the drive-thru.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for shock.

The man died in hospital.

“We have a vast perimeter, we’re meeting with eyewitnesses and we will be collecting video surveillance to get information,” said Sgt. Frédéric Jean of Laval police.

Jean said detectives hope to release the make and model of the SUV later this morning.
