Update Feb. 18:

A small but hard-working crew gathered at the Centre multi-ressources de Lachine on Feb. 17 to help out with a major clean-up of the drop-in and kids' activity rooms.

The morning was spent washing and sorting toys, scrubbing play mats and windows and floors. Kids were arriving for their afternoon playtime just as we wrapped up our work.

It was really nice to see the smiling kids running into the rooms we'd just finished cleaning. A good morning's work by volunteers Paul, Marise, Sarah and Vanessa and special guest volunteers Michel and Jean Lacombe (Monique's parents). Thanks to you all.

This month the CBC Montreal Do Crew will help the following non-profit group with some pre-spring cleaning.

The Centre multi-ressources de Lachine has been part of the community for almost 30 years.

The group works with young families and seniors in the Lachine area. On a day-to-day basis, volunteers with this group are kept busy with morning check-ins with some local seniors (just to make sure they are doing well), community breakfasts and activity time for parents and tots as well as organizing and leading family outings — and that's just scratching the surface.

With all the living and excitement that goes on at the Centre there is always a clean-up on the horizon. In a few weeks time, they will be doing a major scrub down of the kids' daycare and activity room and the kitchen.

That's where the Do Crew comes in. If you're interested in helping out, here is what you need to know:

WHO: 10 volunteers
WHAT: Cleaning: toys, floors, cupboards and all other surfaces in the daycare and kitchen
WHEN: Monday, Feb. 17, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
WHERE: Centre multi-ressources de Lachine, 800 Sherbrooke Street, Lachine
