According to workers on site, crews are removing equipment brought in to pump water out of the sinkhole before repairs got underway.

The hole appeared at the corner of Ste-Catherine and Guy streets on the morning of Aug. 5, swallowing a backhoe.  A worker operating the backhoe was unhurt.

Workers have been on the scene 16 hours a day, and the city says it will take about one more week to patch up the road.
