Brossard hotel operated escort agency: police
Longueuil police have shut down what they believe was an illegal escort agency running out a Brossard hotel.
Thirteen people were arrested on Tuesday night at the hotel on Taschereau Boulevard, including nine employees between the ages of 25 and 45.
A 30-year-old alleged escort and three suspected clients were also taken into custody.
Police also searched a home in the nearby town of Saint-Philippe which police said belonged to owner of the agency, a 37-year-old woman.
Longueuil police believe the agency had been operating for several months, attracting clients through want-ads in Montreal daily newspapers.
Investigators seized more than $7,000, accounting books, and lists of clients and employees.
Police are hoping to made additional arrests.
All of the individuals were released and are expected to appear in court at a later date to face charges.
