Seven families were forced from their Outremont homes after a section of brick wall from a neighbouring high-rise fell on their roof.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday on Côte-Ste-Catherine Road near Mont-Royal Avenue.

Several rows of brick peeled away from the high-rise wall and fell on the neighbouring triplex.

No one was injured, even though people were inside the triplex at the time, including the building owner.

Firefighters cordoned off the area and are doing an initial building inspection.

Structural engineers will evaluate the high-rise brick wall.
