Ben Mulroney, the popular Canadian Idol host and son of former prime minister Brian Mulroney is tying the knot at the end of the month.
Mulroney, 32, is going to marry fashion designer Jessica Brownstein in a small, private family wedding Oct. 30, a spokesperson for the TV host said in a statement.
The couple is going to be wed at St. Patrick's Basilica in Montreal.
Mulroney proposed to Brownstein, a Montrealer, over lunch last year at a Greene Avenue deli, after they had been dating for about six months.
The two knew each other while growing up in Montreal's affluent Westmount neighbourhood.
Mulroney's older sister, Caroline, married stockbroker Andrew Lapham in 2000 in Montreal in a large star-studded wedding that included former U.S. president George Bush, former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher and talk show host Kathy Lee Gifford.
Lapham is the son of Lewis H. Lapham, former editor of Harper's Magazine.
