A 19-year-old male suspect has been arrested in the early morning death of a 28-year-old Montreal man.
The victim died from his injuries this morning after being stabbed around 3:30 a.m. outside a bar on Curé-Labelle Boulevard in Laval.
Constable Franco Di Genova of the Laval police said it appears the victim and the suspect had a verbal dispute inside Café Bab El Hara.
Witnesses told police they continued the argument outside in the parking lot.
The victim was stabbed at least once in the upper body, Di Genova said.
He lost a considerable amount of blood and was rushed to hospital, where he died early this morning.
The suspect fled on foot and was apprehended by police around 2 p.m. on Sunday relatively close to the scene of the crime.
The bar is not known to police, but the suspect is, Di Genova said.
The suspect will be questioned this evening and should appear in court tomorrow.
The stabbing death is the first murder of 2013 in Laval.
