Transcona is located in the easternmost edge of Winnipeg. It is bordered to the west by Radisson and in all other directions by the rural riding of Springfield.

  • First elected in 1990 and re-elected in 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007.
  • Began his career at the CN Rail Transcona shops in 1969.
  • Shop steward and executive board member (IBEW).
  • National president of his railway employee association from 1986 to 1990.
  • Coach and player community sports.
  • He and wife, Sheila Grierson, have three children.

Craig Stapon, PC Party

  • Transcona resident for over 25 years.
  • Involved as both a hockey and baseball coach in the community.
  • Host of Let's Talk Fishin' radio show on CJOB.
  • Involved with Never Alone Foundation, Amadeus Steen Foundation, and Young Angler fishing program.
  • He and wife, Patricia, have a son.

Faye Mcleod-Jashyn, Liberal

  • Raised in Transcona.
  • Works at Child and Family All Nations Coordinated Response Network (ANCR), where she is the assistant to the executive director for the past 3 ½ years.
  • Previously worked for Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc., a youth serving agency, and the United Way of Winnipeg.
  • Has served on many boards, including North End Community Renewal, Winnipeg Friendship Centre, and the East End Aboriginal Resource Centre.
  • Volunteer positions over the years have included being an executive member of the River Elm Parent Advisory Council and an executive member at Chalmers Community Club.
  • She and husband, Kerry Jashyn, have to teenaged sons.
