Youths, 12, 13 and 16, accused in half a dozen break-ins
Police asking any one else hit in St. Vital - River Park area to come forward
Three male youths, 12, 13 and 16, are in custody in connection with a string of thefts.
Winnipeg police said they found the three riding bikes around 6 a.m. Saturday near St. Mary's Road and Ward Avenue.
The bikes turned out to be stolen.
The three were turned over to other police who discovered that during the previous night, the youths had broken into nearly half a dozen addresses in the St. Vital - River Park area and stolen property from vehicles, yards and a garage.
Police said the areas where thefts from vehicles have been confirmed include:
- 1st 100 block of Hirt Crescent
- 200 block of Barlow Court
- 600 block of John Forsyth Road
- 1st 100 block of Yachts Cove
- 1st 100 block of Paddington Road
Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of a similar crime in the above areas during the night of August 14 to 15 to contact investigators at (204) 986-2857.
