Youth charged in pizza worker homicide
A 15-year-old male faces a second degree murder charge following the deadly attack on a pizza store employee.
Winnipeg police said Gerald Crayford, 54, died Monday, one day after being assaulted during a robbery at a pizza store in Winnipeg.
Just before midnight on Monday, the youth was arrested in the Monroe Avenue and Panet Road area.
Police said the assault happened just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the Pizza Hotline location in the 1100 block of Concordia Avenue in the city's East Kildonan neighbourhood. The cash register was tampered with, but police are still trying to determine if anything was stolen.
Police are still looking for a second suspect.
