Woman hit by car improving in hospital

The condition of a woman struck by a car in Winnipeg on Tuesday morning is improving.

The condition of a woman struck by a car in Winnipeg on Tuesday morning has been upgraded.

The 48-year-old woman was originally listed in unstable condition after the collision, which happened at about 7:30 a.m. at Portage Avenue and Woodlawn Street.

She is now listed as stable.

The woman was crossing Portage when she was hit by an car driven by a 30-year-old man, police said.

Portage was closed for several hours as police examined the scene.

The incident is still under investigation and no charges have yet been laid.
