Woman charged with impaired driving after SUV crashes into business
Winnipeg police have charged a 59-year-old woman with impaired driving after an SUV slammed into a store and several vehicles at a strip mall in the Tuxedo area Friday afternoon.
At least one person was taken to hospital following the crash on Corydon Avenue.
The SUV smashed into the front of Harris Builders Ltd. at 2090 Corydon at about 3:00 p.m.
Police said they've interviewed several witnesses who said the SUV had smashed into the building twice and hit several vehicles in the parking lot.
The back end of the vehicle could be seen lodged inside the strip-mall business shortly after the crash.
Emergency crews were on scene and loaded one person into an ambulance.
Police could not immediately confirm what condition the person was in.
Officers found the woman driver still inside the SUV when they arrived.
She was taken into custody, but has been released.
The woman faces several charges including impaired driving and dangerous driving.
