A 67-year-old woman died and two other people were taken to hospital after a collision between a minivan and sedan Wednesday morning.

The woman's name is not being released, police said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 206 and Highway 311 about 30 kilometres southeast of Winnipeg, near the hamlet of Landmark.

The northbound minivan had been travelling on Highway 206 when it collided around 6:45 a.m. with the mid-size four-door sedan, travelling eastbound on Highway 311, police said.

The sedan's two occupants were taken to Steinbach Bethesda Hospital, where the female passenger died.

The sedan's driver was taken to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, while the minivan's driver was taken to Bethesda Hospital. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was redirected for several hours as emergency crews and investigators were at the scene.

Steinbach RCMP officers along with the RCMP traffic analyst are still investigating.
