It happened Sunday night just before 7 p.m. at Lyall Drive and River Road in the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews.

RCMP said the motorcycle, driven by a 26-year-old man turned a corner and struck the parked vehicle. The man was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

His passenger, the 20-year old woman, died from her injuries.

The accident happened at outfitter Stu McKay's business, Cats on the Red.

"This road is actually posted at 50 clicks," said McKay. "it's not a high speed road but then again people do fly up and down it. There is a three way stop here. Very few people ever stop at it."

Motorcyclist Henry Koehn was out for a ride in Lockport, Man. Sunday. He said it's best to slow down for winding, possibly unfamiliar roads.

"You have to be aware of everything that's ahead of you, so you don't get yourself into trouble," said Koehn. "Once you get yourself into trouble, it's too late."

One helmet was located at the scene, but police do not yet know who was wearing it.

Speed is considered a factor in the crash but alcohol is not.

The investigation is ongoing, RCMP said.
