Winnipeg Wesman player happy L.A. Clippers owner banned
The NBA's commissioner banned Donald Sterling from the league for life for racist comments he made
University of Winnipeg basketball player Steven Wesley is happy the NBA has given Los Angeles Clippers's owner Donald Sterling a lifetime ban from the league.
“I think it was the right decision considering all the circumstances,” said Wesley. “There isn't really any room for that in the NBA since it's such a multi-culture organization.”
Wesley, an African American post-secondary student from Washington, is attending the U of W and playing forward for the Wesman men's basketball team.
Wesley doesn't think Sterling's racist comments will hurt the NBA.
The league also fined Sterling $2.5-million.
