The Winnipeg vigil was organized by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and held at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, where Father Bodhan Lukie said the tragedy has affected people all over the world.
"It was important for us to be bonded with our people in Ukraine, and to feel close to the people who have suffered the loss of their loved ones," he said.
