A Winnipeg Transit driver has been charged after an elderly man was hit by a bus last month.
The 84-year-old man had serious lower-body injuries after he was struck by the transit bus on Chief Peguis Trail on Dec. 20.
The 42-year-old male driver has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, Winnipeg police announced on Thursday.
According to police, the pedestrian had been a passenger on the bus in question and was disembarking at a bus stop when he was hit.
The driver has been released on a promise to appear in court. Police did not release the man's name.
