Winnipeg teens facing car theft, robbery charges
For the second day in a row, teens are facing charges after stealing one vehicle and trying to steal another.
Winnipeg police said three male youths stole a car on McKenzie Street in the city's northwest corner, then tried to steal a second car on Manley Crescent in nearby Jefferson.
The owner confronted them and they took off in the stolen car.
Police said the suspects then robbed another teen waiting for a bus in the Burrows Central neighbourhood.
Two of the teens were caught when police spotted the stolen vehicle.
The third has since turned himself in to police.
Two of the suspects, 14 and a 16, are being held in custody at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
The third, also 16, was released on a promise to appear.
