A 17-year-old boy from Winnipeg has been charged with manslaughter in connection to a homicide on the Crane River First Nation.
The boy was arrested on Wednesday for the incident, which happened June 30 on the reserve, located about 290 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
A teen, also 17, was found unresponsive outside a residence on the First Nation at about 5:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
An autopsy determined the cause of death as trauma from an assault.
