Winnipeggers in need of a new best friend can stop by Animal Services over the next few days.

The agency is teeming with dogs and is holding a three-day sale to try and make room in their facility.

Right now, 48 dogs are in the centre, and 29 of those are up for adoption.

Sunday through Tuesday the centre is offering adoptable dogs for $99. Each adoption includes a license, micro-chip, spay or neutering, basic shots, food and pet health insurance.

The centre is reminding Winnipeg pet owners to make sure their dogs are wearing current licenses.

Pooches picked up by Animal Services without a license are held for three days before they are put up for adoption, sent to an animal rescue agency or euthanized.

Last year, 856 dogs wearing current licenses were reunited with their owners by 311.

With a City of Winnipeg dog license, dogs get one “free” release to their owners per year and can be held at Animal Services for up to 10 days.
