Winnipeg police are looking for suspects after a group attack left one man in critical condition on Wednesday.

According to police, a passerby found a man badly injured in the 500 block of William Avenue just before midnight.

When emergency crews arrived, they found a 45-year-old man with serious injuries to his upper body. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he remained Thursday.

Police believe the man was assaulted by a group, and the major crimes unit is now investigating.
