A house in Winnipeg's Point Douglas neighbourhood has been cordoned off as part of a joint investigation involving city police and the RCMP.

Officers have been at the house on the 100 block of Lorne Avenue since Tuesday, according to police.

The Winnipeg Police Service's identification unit arrived at the home on Wednesday.

An RCMP spokesman would only confirm that the RCMP and Winnipeg police are in the early stages of a joint investigation related to a criminal investigation.

There is no word on when police will release more details about their investigation.
