Winnipeg police have laid second-degree murder charges against a 33-year-old man following an investigation that lasted over a year.
In the early morning hours of Dec. 31, 2011 police went to a home in the 600 block of Selkirk Avenue and found a man and woman with gunshot wounds.
Emergency crews rushed a 30-year-old woman and 36-year-old Michael Warren Sinclair to hospital.
The woman survived her injuries, but Sinclair died in hospital.
Officers believe a man armed with a gun went to the back of the home and opened fire on Sinclair and a woman when they opened the door.
Clayton Campeau, 33, is now facing second-degree murder and attempted murder charges.
Campeau remains in police custody.
