Winnipeg police lay charges in house party slaying
Gary Nathan Houle, 23, died of injuries in hospital marking Winnipeg's 20th homicide of 2013
Winnipeg police have laid manslaughter charges against a 26-year-old man after Gary Nathan Houle was found clinging to life in a North End home.
Houle, 23, was found seriously injured Sunday morning in the 300 block of Bannerman Avenue. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later died of his injuries.
Police believe two men who knew each other became involved in a fight at a house party at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, and Houle was badly injured.
Houle’s death marks the 21st homicide of 2013 in Winnipeg.
Now, Jerry Samuel William has been charged with manslaughter. William was initially charged with aggravated assault, but those charges were upgraded on Monday.
