Winnipeg police divert traffic after train derailed near Ikea

Traffic is being rerouted on Kenaston Boulevard near Ikea after what Winnipeg police are calling a "minor train derailment."

The accident happened shortly after 7 p.m.

No hazardous material spillages or injuries have been reported.

North and southbound traffic is being diverted on Kenaston Blvd. between Sterling Lyon Parkway and Lindenwood Drive East.

Police said the closure could last several hours and suggested drivers in the area plan alternate routes.
