Winnipeg police charge woman, 31, in St. Vital slaying
Keith George McFee, 69, found dead in St. Vital apartment days after being killed
Winnipeg police have laid second-degree murder charges against a 31-year-old woman after a 69-year-old man was found dead in an apartment suite in St. Vital last week.
Keith George McFee's body was found in the 200 block of Fernwood Avenue on Jan. 3.
Police have said he was found with upper body injuries and may have been dead in his suite for some time. McFee had last been seen alive on Boxing Day.
On Tuesday, police said they believe McFee and a woman were drinking in the apartment on Dec. 26 or Dec. 27, when an argument broke out and escalated into a fatal assault.
Police say the accused took the victim's car and later abandoned it in the area of Logan Avenue and Laura Street.
Now, Leanne May Henderson has been charged with second-degree murder and theft over $5,000.
Police say Henderson is associated with the sex trade and the McFee and Henderson knew one another.
