Winnipeg police have made an arrest in an altercation that left two men suffering from stab wounds early Thursday morning.

Officers were called to a business on the 100 block of Osborne Street after reports of a stabbing at about 1:10 a.m. CST.

An investigation has revealed a group of men were trying to socialize with several female patrons they didn't know.

Police said at some point in the evening the men became rude and obnoxious towards the women.

Another man then confronted two of the other men about their behaviour.

An altercation erupted and the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed a 46-year-old man and a 33-year-old man before fleeing the scene, police said.

The men suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police have charged a 28-year-old man with assault with a weapon.
