Parts of southern Manitoba saw record-breaking temperatures Saturday, it looks like more of the same is on the way Sunday — just not for Winnipeg.

Six communities broke warm weather records yesterday — including Gimli (8.6 C), Pilot Mound (12.1 C), Pinawa (12.5 C), Gretna (13.8 C), and Melita (15.3 C).

Winnipeg registered at 12.2 C, shattering the previous record of 9.7 C.

On Saturday, Brandon broke its previous record for that day when it reached 12.2 C. Sunday, the southwestern city is expected to break another record and reach 16 C.

For Winnipeg:

  • Drizzle ending in the afternoon
  • Cloudy in the afternoon, clearing in the evening
  • High of 10 C
  • South winds gusting to 30 km/h
  • Rain
  • Overnight low of –1 C

Enjoy the warmth today, because the forecast says places like Winnipeg could see rain and snow and reach near zero temperatures again by mid-week.
