Winnipeg police Chief Devon Clunis and Kevin Chief, MLA for Point Douglas, led about 300 kids on the three-kilometre run, which started at Norquay School.

RCMP and community members also joined in the run, which was designed to inspire kids to get involved in positive activities in their community.

It was also an opportunity to "strengthen the relationships that will build a better, stronger and safer community for everyone," stated a press release.

A special tribute for the three fallen Moncton RCMP officers was also held, with three balloons being released.
