Winnipeg Jets recall defenceman Juilian Melchiori from AHL

The Winnipeg Jets have recalled defenceman Julian Melchiori from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

The Winnipeg Jets have recalled defenceman Julian Melchiori from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Melchiori, 21, has 14 penalty minutes in 10 games with the IceCaps this season.

The Richmond Hill, Ont., native has played in 63 career AHL games with St. John's. He has eight career points (one goal, seven assists) and 53 career penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the third round, 87th overall, in the 2010 NHL draft.

The Winnipeg Jets also announced they have placed defenceman Mark Stuart on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 29.
