Winnipeg gets ready for the Juno Awards
Winnipeg hosts the Juno Awards this weekend, and preparations are in full swing for the big event.
At the MTS Centre, crews have been putting in 10-hour days to prepare for Sunday's award show — a production that involves a year's worth of preparation and careful co-ordination.
"This is probably the biggest one-of-a-kind show that happens," said technical producer Karel Noordover, as workers carefully unloaded pieces of the show set on Tuesday.
Others are taking in Juno-related events happening across the city, from high-school band and choir performances at the Manitoba legislature to a workshop at the West End Cultural Centre.
